The TCM Wellbeing Programme is based on prevention. Many people wait until they fall ill before they take action. TCMA believes that it is possible to circumvent illness. Your body is designed to heal itself, to repair damage in the right balanced environment; good blood flow, a good lymphatic system and perfectly functioning organs.
The team at TCM Australia endorses the ancient Chinese philosophy that you need to treat the whole body holistically, not just the specific symptom of ill-health. The Chinese believe that you need to treat the cause of the disease, not just the symptoms.
The TCM Wellbeing Programme promotes excellent major organ functions, a good blood flow and a well-performing lymphatic system. A well-performing lymphatic system keeps the body fluids in balance and encourages good blood flow. A good blood flow encourages the major organs to work in perfect synchronicity. When the major organs are functioning in harmony, there is greater vitality, greater health and improved emotional health.
TCM Australia’s TCM Wellbeing Programme incorporates a powerful combination of acupuncture, massage, dry needling, moxibustion, cupping and herbs, all designed to stimulate the body back to health.
The TCM Wellbeing Programme, following the principles of ancient Chinese medicine, takes three months to go from a sub-health condition to optimal health. This is precisely the amount of time for the red blood cells to regenerate and for the stomach to shrink to its natural size.
TCMA uses the most natural and effective ways to treat its patients. All treatments are carefully selected to suit each individual and specific treatment plan is devised according to individual assessments. Each patient is prescribed their own individually prepared formulas. The herbs prescribed are only suitable for that particular patient. No two people are the same and no two people are treated the same way at TCMA. Each bespoke treatment plan also adapts to the body as it changes and transforms.
The TCMA specialist do not over-prescribe. If a patient can be healed with massage only, they do not include acupuncture, reflexology or herbs in the treatment plan. The TCMA specialists never prescribe the most powerful herbs if they can use milder ones. The beauty of the TCMA treatments is that there are usually few side effects. The treatments promote the body’s own healing powers. The body is remarkable in that it knows how to heal itself, given the right conditions.
The TCM Wellbeing programme is a unique treatment, designed to achieve maximum recovery, to achieve the best possible level of health in the shortest possible period of time.
As a standard, for the first two weeks of the programme, patients attend the clinic each day for prescribed treatment and strict monitoring. The visits then taper off to four times a week, and ultimately to once a week. The last five weeks of the programme are the easiest. The programme is a significant time commitment, but it’s necessary to affect the health changes required. Depending upon the level of commitment once the programme has been completed, this will be a one-off investment in health. TCMA has patients who return regularly for top-ups. Some within 6 months, others on an annual basis.
The programme is completed in three stages.
Cleanse and Release is a four-week programme which involves a combination of treatments such as Chinese herbs, Tui Na (massage), acupuncture or dry needling and cupping. Specialist Chinese masseurs concentrate on the stomach area to ensure improved circulation throughout the whole body, especially to the internal organs and a maximum release of toxins and fat. It also provides a reboot to the internal organs and improves the immune system and metabolism.
Repair and Recovery. This 4-week stage assists in resetting eating, drinking and exercise behaviour in a short space of time. Different massage techniques and acupuncture points are used to shrink the physical size of the stomach and to improve circulation throughout the whole body, especially to the internal organs.
Whole body recalibration. In this 5-week stage, the TCMA treatment practitioner will focus on body efficiency and helping patients achieve long-lasting optimum health levels and body functionality. This includes the creation of a daily health routine, eating regime and providing the knowledge for patients to function better, live without pain and drugs and maintain their weight.
All patients undergo an initial health assessment with a TCMA consultation specialist who will check the patient’s tongue, pulse, eyes and skin, medical and family history, vital signs and physical and mental health to form a diagnosis and to determine if the person is in a suitable condition to undertake the TCM Wellbeing Programme. This assessment will provide a record of the patient’s current health and will inform a treatment specifically designed for the individual which may include artisanal herbs, acupuncture, moxibustion, massage and more. It is requested that patients see their own GP before they start treatment.
During the first 14 days of the Cleanse and Release phase, you will visit a TCMA clinic for daily massage, acupuncture and other prescribed treatments such as moxibustion and cupping.
During the following 14 days, you will undergo four treatments a week as prescribed by your Treatment Consultant who will also devise a tailored food plan.
During the Repair and Recovery stage, the massage and acupuncture treatments will concentrate on creating better blood flow to your internal organs. `You will attend your TCMA clinic for three sessions of treatments over the next four weeks.
Stage three of the programme, Whole Body Recalibration will concentrate on repairing and healing your body in order to stabilise your health. You will only need one session of treatments per week during this phase.
The Programme is designed to ensure that patients live pain and drug-free. If the patients are on any Western medication, TCMA specialists will ask the patients to consult with their GPs or treating medical specialist to obtain clearance before embarking on the programme.
It’s a good idea to let your family and friends know that you are embarking on the programme. Patients who receive support from their family and friends are more likely to stay committed and complete the programme.
Do not add lemon juice to your water and do not add milk, sugar or any other flavourings to your tea.
Do not drink sparkling water or mineral water.
Do not eat fruit, salad, soup, raw foods, any carbohydrates (bread or pasta) or chew gum during the initial four-week programme. Stick to eating only what has been specifically recommended to you by your Treatment Consultant.
If you have a social event and need to change your eating plan for the day, please discuss it with your assigned Treatment Consultant.
It is imperative to follow your treatment plan properly to gain the best results. It is important as well to listen to your own body.
If you feel tired or unwell, try to lie down and rest for 5 – 10 minutes or longer if possible and this will help you to feel better.
You will be given a customised herbal drink that you will take three times a day during the first four weeks of the programme. The drink is rich in nutrients and will be given to you as individual sachets that require heating. The herbs are also available in capsule form if you have difficulty tolerating the taste and smell of the herbs or to take with you when you travel.
While you are doing the programme, TCMA does not recommend high intensity exercise. Low impact activity such as walking, Tai Chi or yoga is fine. The important thing is to listen to your body and exercise only if and when you feel up to it.
The Treatment Consultant will book you in for a post-programme consultation with your consultation specialist n to review your progress and you will be given recommendations on how to look after your health for the long-term. Your specialist will be available after the programme to assist you in monitoring your health. Some patients may still have a gap between their current health and peak health at the end of the programme and your consultant will work with you to fix the gap.
Once you have completed the TCM Wellbeing programme, your organs should feel much more balanced, and your body purified. It is important that you maintain your weight and treat your body with the respect it deserves. You are now in peak health and you must do your utmost to stay that way.
Congratulations, you have taken the first step towards a healthier future and are on your way to achieving a balanced body.
You will feel the process of detoxification with bad breath, irregular stool movements, feeling tired and mentally weak but understand that this will soon pass.
These are just indications that you are well on your way to having a cleaner, healthier and better functioning body. The outside world will always challenge you. You will overuse your body emotionally and physically – this is part of our contemporary Western lifestyle.
If you have an off day, please rest as much as possible. Have a nap during the day. Go to bed early and you will feel much better the next day.
If your back starts to hurt, your stomach aches or if you are feeling really weak, remember to call your Clinician personally. They will advise you on what to do. They may change your treatment plan, provide you with additional treatments to help you with those aches and pains or provide you with motivational support. Alternatively, if you are feeling ill, please contact your GP or go to your nearest emergency department.
The TCM Wellbeing Programme will rebalance and purify your organs, but it is important that you maintain your body and weight by treating your body right. The first month post your programme is very important for establishing good habits in your everyday life and will set you up for health and wellbeing for the rest of your life.
Once you have successfully completed the programme and are in a state of optimal health, being alive in the true sense of the world is your priority. You will have achieved an easy and healthy pathway to old age, just as nature intends.
The aim of the TCM Wellbeing Programme is to help you to reach your optimal health in a short space of time. Weight loss is just a part of the program. The three stages of the program are: 1. Clean and release stage (4 weeks). 2. Repair and recover stage (4 weeks). 3. Whole body recalibration (5 weeks).
The TCM Wellbeing Programme will challenge you both physically and mentally. In a very short space of time, you will change your eating, drinking and exercise behaviours. In general, you will find that days 4 and 5 of the first 14 days of treatment are the most difficult. When you reach Day 7, you’ll become very motivated to successfully complete the programme. There will be moments of doubt and weakness, but by remaining mentally strong and finishing the journey, you will gain amazing health benefits.
Based on your initial consultation with your Treatment consultant, you will be given a customised herbal drink. All the liquid herbs are prepared from natural plants. They come in individual sachets that you gently heat and drink to replace your usual three meals a day. No other food is required as the nutrients in the herbs will sustain you for the initial 2 weeks. This herbal medicine contains no animal products.
These include massage and/or cupping/reflexology/moxibustion and acupuncture, depending on what your body needs. The daily treatment will unblock all of your meridians and help strengthen your weakest internal organs. It will also help your body release built- up toxins and fat; it focuses especially on breaking down the fat attached to the stomach and other vital organs. You will lose weight, gain more energy and most importantly, improve your body’s long-term balance and function. Each daily treatment takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, so it is best to schedule your times for each of the initial 14 days in advance. Without daily treatments, you will find it hard to follow your tailored TCM Wellbeing Programme and will not achieve the best results possible.
It takes time to correct years of bad eating and drinking habits. However, you will develop a new appreciation and respect for what you are willing to put in your mouth. A special, customised diet plan will be prepared and given to you on Day 15. If you are disciplined in following it, you will be able to eat whatever you like (within reason) after the second key stage of the programme. Most importantly, at the end of your last session, TCMA specialist will give you a final consultation to advise you on how you can sustain healthy dietary habits and maintain your optimal health.
The key factor determining this is how much fat you have in your stomach area. On average you can expect to trim 5 to 10 centimetres from your waist and 5 to 8 kilograms of weight in the first 14 days of the programme. However, it is important to remember that this programme is designed to re-establish the balance and function of your internal organs. It will improve both your immune system and general metabolism. By default, your body will adjust to its ideal weight, for a healthier, longer life.
The short answer is no. Your organs have now re-balanced and their function has improved. Your stomach will have shrunk by 30-50%, and you will eat much less than before; in fact, you will feel discomfort if you eat more than you need. The fat cells in your vital organs have shrunk and will not re-absorb fats to the extent they did previously. Maintain your weight for the next four weeks, take responsibility for looking after yourself and you will enjoy your newfound wellbeing for the rest of your life.
